Press Release - PBW Law retains top legal ranking in Chambers UK

Scottish legal firm PBW Law has been recognised again as a leader in Police Law in the latest edition of the prestigious Chambers UK 2025 directory.

For the second year in a row, the firm has received a ranking for its expertise in Police Law: Mainly Defendant, maintaining its position from last year. The firm’s senior partner, Peter Watson, also secured an individual lawyer ranking, moving up a band from last year.

The rankings are in recognition of PBW Law’s work in representing police officers in fatal accident inquiries, public inquiries, judicial review proceedings, criminal and civil litigation.

Chambers ranks the best lawyers and law firms across the world. The rankings within the directory, delivered by independent legal research company Chambers and Partners, are the definitive mark of excellence for law firms and solicitors across the UK.

In describing the firm during the thorough assessment process, one client stated: “PBW Law provides an excellent service, providing advice and representation whenever it is required.”

Another client said: “They give a very personalised service and have a strong team where each lawyer knows what they are doing and work efficiently as a team.”

On describing Peter Watson, one client remarked: “Peter Watson is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable litigators in Scotland. He brings that depth of experience to every case he works on.”

Peter Watson, Senior Partner and owner of PBW Law, said: “We are honored that Chambers has once again ranked our firm as the go-to specialists in police law. We are deeply committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients and our team has equally unmatched experience and capabilities.

“If you look at the others ranked in this area, they tend to be bigger firms, so this is a significant achievement for a firm of our size. It is a mark of excellence we all can be proud of. Congratulations to our team, this reflects everyone’s hard work and commitment.”

Since 2015 Peter Watson has led PBW Law based in Glasgow which has become the most successful boutique operation in Scotland.

Peter Watson was one of the first lawyers to qualify as a Solicitor Advocate in Scotland and he is also President of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences (BAFS).

PBW Law is a member of Legal Network International (LNI) and is the first Scottish firm to join the alliance. LNI has members in 50 countries and 130 cities and is an alliance of independent, internationally focused law firms committed to providing clients with the best available representation on their cross-border matters.
